Our
access to Howe Sound is at risk! With the spit being slated for removal
this summer (see
Realign Not Remove for more info) and the oceanfront park under construction for two years, what
remains for accessing the ocean is limited to mamquam boat channel
and muddy wetland habitats. Hundreds of current daily visitors to
the ocean will be unable to partake in watersports or will be forced to
crowd into the small and difficult access points remaining. We hope to come to an economic solution that works for all in the community
Windsports Education
Enjoy
the natural exhilaration of cruising around Howe Sound powered only by
the wind! Getting into windsports can be challenging, with
beginner/learning gear being hard to come by and only useful for your
first few sessions.
Learn to windsurf or wingsurf/wingfoil with the Squamish Surf
Club this Summer and get started with a new way to enjoy our amazing
Howe Sound.
Not ready for a lesson? Check out our
clinics to get a taste of windsurfing or winging in a casual shoreside experience.
Once you've
learned the basics, take out rental and demo gear to dial in your
technique! Available for members, our rental and demo fleet will be
designed to help facilitate the transition into setting up your own
wingfoil or windsurf setup.
